If you do not appear at the check-in desk in time, you will forfeit your entitlement for transport, but you are still required to pay for the flight. Unfortunately we are unable to change or cancel your booking free of charge in such a case. You can only take a different flight if you make another booking and payment.
Exception: if your flight is booked in the FlyFlex fare category, it can still be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge, even if you have missed your check-in deadline.

Seat reservations are free of charge for families with infants and for the severely disabled (German disability code "B", i.e. companion pass) and an accompanying person. If you have a topbonus Card Silver/Gold/Platinum or a topbonus Service Card, seat reservations are free of charge for you, as well as for one adult travelling companion and any children under 12 travelling with you.
As a topbonus Silver Card or Service Card holder, you can reserve XL seats with a €10 discount on short and medium-haul flights or a €15 discount on long-haul flights. topbonus Gold/Platinum Card holders plus one adult companion can reserve seats free of charge.

There are no handling fees for online bookings made via airberlin.com and on bookings made via app or via the mobile site m.airberlin.com. Customers who have a German, Austrian or Dutch bank account can pay by direct debit. A payment charge of €9.50 per person is levied on credit card payments and payments made through PayPal. If payment is made through the airberlin Service Center or at the ticket desk, a service charge of €20 per person is levied. These regulations do not apply to individuals who require assistance because of mental or physical disabilities or to unaccompanied children.

airberlin flight vouchers can be redeemed by indicating the promotional code when making an online booking at airberlin.com or flyniki.com or through our Service Center by telephone (calls charged at the local rate from a German landline; rates in other countries may vary).
Please note that only one voucher may be used per booking. It is not possible to offset a voucher once the booking has been made. In order to use the voucher successfully, the currency of the voucher and the currency chosen to book the flight must be the same.

- You will then be redirected to the online banking services of your own bank or savings bank.

- After successfully logging in, the bank transfer with all details of the purchase will be displayed automatically: invoice amount, reason for transfer and the retailer’s bank details will be included.
- To complete the bank transfer you then just need to enter a TAN.

Information on withheld amounts with debit cards
If you have made your booking with a debit, credit or Visa Electron card, your card may be temporarily charged twice. Along with the total amount for the booking, there is also a charge for the total amount of the flight ticket. This withheld amount on your account, over which airberlin has no control, should be automatically re-credited to your account within 10 days. This relates to an agreement in Spain between the banks and the payment card issuers.
What is the reason behind this?
airberlin undertakes pre-authorisation during the booking process as security for the card. This should ensure that the account has sufficient credit for the flight ticket and that the card has not been blocked or stolen. As soon as the requested amount is authorised, the ticket can be issued and the actual amount for the corresponding booking can be charged to the card. At this moment the banks’ systems are able to immediately release the withheld amount.

Select the amount required and the image of your choice and add a short personal message to your airberlin flight voucher. The flight voucher can be sent by email or printed out.
airberlin flight vouchers become valid once payment is made and remain valid for three years from the date of purchase.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to redeem award miles for babies online at airberlin.com. Please contact the Service Center » to have a baby added at a later date to an existing award flight booking.
A Rail&Fly Ticket can always be added to an existing flight booking even at a later date. However, a rebooking fee, dependent on the fare category, will be charged per person. We therefore recommend that you book your Rail&Fly Ticket at the same time as you book your flight ticket.
For airberlin and NIKI flights booked in the FlyDeal, FlyClassic or FlyFLex fare categories, you can reserve a seat when booking the flight on the Internet, via our Service Center or at a travel agents, provided it is at least 48 hours prior to the departure date.
The JustFly fare category does not include the option of making a seat reservation. Seat reservations are not available to their full extent on flights operated by our partner airlines.You can reserve a seat for a booking you have already made for an airberlin or NIKI flight either online at My Booking » or via our Service Center » up to 48 hours before departure.
This is also possible if your booking was made through a tour operator or at a travel agency. In addition, you have the option of reserving a seat with more leg room.
On all airberlin and NIKI flights there are a few seats which have more leg room to ensure a more comfortable journey.
Since these seats are in some cases located next to the emergency exits, they are subject to special safety regulations under Community law and may not be reserved by persons in the following categories:
- expectant mothers
- children and infants up to and including 12 years of age
- passengers with reduced mobility
- passengers carrying pets in the cabin
With an open jaw flight the route of the outward flight is different to that of the return flight.
There are three different types of open jaw flight:
1. The airport of departure on the outward flight is not the same at the airport of arrival on the return flight, e.g.

This gives you the option of cancelling the flight within 72 hours of booking it and being reimbursed the total fare; the only fees to be paid are the costs of the "72-hour-fare guarantee!" option. These are non-refundable and amount to €5 per person per booking on short- and medium-haul flights and €15 on long-haul flights. The fees are also payable if the booking is not cancelled. The "72-hour fare guarantee!" option may be booked until 10 days before departure. The "72-hour flight guarantee" option is not available in the JustFly and FlyDeal fare (long-haul) categories.

We normally tell you a few days before departure whether your bid was successful.
What happens if my bid was successful?
If your bid was successful, your credit card will be charged for the sum of the bid you placed and you will receive confirmation from us sent to the email address you gave when booking.
What happens if my bid was not successful?
You will receive a message sent to the email address you gave when booking. Your original flight booking remains unchanged.
Can I change my price once I have already placed a bid?
You can change your bid at any time, provided it has not yet been accepted by airberlin.
What happens if I want to cancel or amend my flight after I have placed a bid?
If you cancel your flight booking yourself, after your bid has been accepted, the money will not be refunded to you. You will be reimbursed for your Economy ticket according to the current fare terms and conditions.
What happens if I want to change my booking at short notice?
If you have placed a bid that has not yet been accepted, and want to change the booking, the bid becomes invalid. If it is an option for your new flight, you can place a new bid.
If your bid has already been accepted and you want to change the booking, your bid may in exceptional cases be refunded to you. Your bid cannot be transferred. If it is an option for your new flight, you can place a new bid.
Can I also redeem topbonus miles to pay for the upgrade?

Will I be credited with topbonus miles for the upgrade?
You will be credited with the miles from the original Economy ticket for your flight.
Paying with giropay takes place within the secure online banking services of your bank or savings bank. So this guarantees that sensitive and personal data is exchanged exclusively between you and your bank. No third party can see your personal account and earnings information.
To be able to pay with giropay you just need an online banking current account with a participating bank or savings bank and the appropriate login details such as PIN or TAN numbers. No additional registration is necessary for giropay.
No, using giropay is in principle free for you as customer. When you pay with giropay, airberlin.com does not make a payment charge.

You download your boarding pass as a PDF file and print it out on standard printing paper in A4 format.
Note: A boarding card opened in PDF format on a mobile phone cannot be used for boarding.
Boarding card in PDF format by email (print@home)
You receive your boarding pass as a PDF attachment to an email sent to the address of your choice and print the page out on standard printing paper in A4 format.

SMS with link to mobile boarding card
You will be sent an SMS to the mobile number you have entered with a link which takes you to your mobile boarding card. You save this and/or open it for boarding. This requires an internet-enabled mobile phone. The really practical feature of this is that there is no need to print it out.
Mobile boarding card by email
You will receive your mobile boarding card in the form of a barcode as an email attachment which will be sent to an address you enter. You can then open this for boarding. This requirements email reception using an internet-enabled mobile phone. The really practical feature of this is that there is no need to print it out. The email contains a link. Follow the link to save your boarding pass in your passbook.
Mobile boarding pass via MMS for topbonus status customers
You will receive your mobile boarding card in the form of a barcode by MMS which will be sent to a mobile phone number you enter. You can then open this for boarding. The really practical feature of this is that there is no need to print it out.
Please note that a mobile phone number on a German or Austrian mobile phone network is required for this service.
As a result of official restrictions at the departure and/or destination airport the mobile boarding card cannot be provided for all routes.
Collect your boarding card at the airport
You will be given your boarding card at the airport up to the check-in closure time » at the airberlin check-in desk. Alternatively you can print our your boarding card up to 45 minutes before your planned departure at one of the quick check-in machines at the airport terminal.
Except in JustFly: in this fare category it is not possible to print out your boarding pass at the Quick Check-in machine.
Boarding takes place in groups which are called out one by one by the staff at the gate. Your boarding pass shows which group you are in.
During the boarding procedure you must have your mobile boarding card ready by the scanner or hand over the hard copy (original) of your boarding card to the person at the gate. Please note that you must show your valid identification document for boarding. Please have this ready with your boarding card.
A seat is suggested for each passenger in your booking using an interactive seat plan . This seat can be retained or reselected. You can change your choice as often as you wish.
If you have already reserved the seat you want, it will be shown in the seat plan and you can go straight to the next step.
Except in JustFly: in this fare category you cannot choose your seat.
Web check-in is possible for almost all airberlin routes. The check-in system used by airberlin is not yet supported at a few airports or there are official restrictions which mean that web check-in is not permitted.
On flights operated by our codeshare partners, both the Web Check-in and the desk Check-in must take place with the codeshare partner.
The Web Check-in service cannot be used for flights to and from Canada, Kosovo, Cyprus, Mexico and Cuba.

After successfully retrieving your booking via Web Check-in you can download a new version of your boarding pass or we can dispatch it to you. Alternatively you can collect your boarding card at the airport up to the check-in closure time » at the desk or print it out again at the quick check-in machines up to 45 minutes before your planned departure.
Except in JustFly: in this fare category it is not possible to print out your boarding pass at the Quick Check-in machine.
Note: Passengers with connecting flights will receive their boarding cards for all routes at the check-in desk.
Any baggage other than your hand baggage can be left at the baggage drop-off or check-in desk before boarding.

There are no special rules for the security checks. You show your (mobile) boarding card and your identification document.
The gate is shown on your boarding card. Since the gate may be changed without notice, you should check this information on the display board in the airport.
The new, paperless check-in facility by mobile. No more waiting at the check-in desk. The airberlin MMS Check-in is an easy and quick way to manage your entire check-in procedure by mobile. All you need is an MMS-capable mobile. As soon as your flight is available for online check-in (for advance bookings this will be approx. 30 hours before the scheduled departure, for last-minute bookings this will be approx. 3 hours before departure) we will automatically send you an SMS asking you whether you would like to check in by mobile phone. This invitation will be sent to you for each leg of your journey. You can pre-check in by replying to the text message with the relevant flight number. We will take your individual preferences – window, aisle seat or sitting together – into account, subject to availability. You will need to text us with the reply at least one hour before the scheduled departure time. We will send your boarding pass in the form of a barcode directly to your mobile using the MMS facility. In addition to the barcode, the MMS also contains important passenger information in text form, such as passenger name, flight number etc. Please show this MMS along with your passport or ID document to security control when requested to do so. This barcode will then allow you to go directly to the departure gate, where the code will be scanned from the display on your mobile. You can still check in your baggage at the check-in desk.
During the booking process (booking step 4 / Entering invoice data) the services available for the relevant flight will be shown in the "e-Services" column.

If on any occasion you do not use the Check-in service via the airberlin iPhone app, you can still download your Passbook boarding pass from the Web Check-in service. Simply send your boarding pass by email to your mobile phone and click on the link "Save boarding pass in Passbook".

JustFly & FlyDeal fare: You are unable to change your bookings in the JustFly & FlyDeal fares.
FlyClassic fare: You can change your bookings by telephone or at the ticket counter in the airport before the check-in deadline listed in the order confirmation or on the Internet at www.airberlin.com/checkin. If you rebook, you will be asked to pay any difference to a higher fare applicable at the time of your change in booking; rebooking to departing flights of a lower fare is only possible at the original flight price. Further, you will be asked to pay a separate rebooking fee as specified in the fee table » applicable at the time of rebooking. Rebooking fees are not charged for infants. A ticket booked in the FlyClassic category can also be rebooked as a FlyFlex fare.
FlyFlex fare: It is also possible to rebook after the original date of departure. If you rebook, you will be asked to pay any difference to a higher fare applicable at the time of your change in booking; rebooking to departing flights of a lower fare is only possible at the original flight price. No separate rebooking fee is charged. It is not possible to change your booking from an international flight to a domestic flight. You are also not permitted to change your booking from a domestic flight to an international flight or to a domestic flight in a different country. There may be restrictions on alternative routes.
You may only change the passenger's name before departure of the first leg of the flight. The higher fare and a rebooking fee will be charged for name changes in the FlyClassic fare. You can change the name free of charge in the FlyFlex fare by calling our Service Center. You may only use the approved credit cards or direct debit to pay the rebooking fees and/or changes in passenger name. No rebooking fees will be charged for children aged 2 and under. Discounts do not apply to rebooking fees.
For all fares, when you make a reservation with us, we will hold your reservation at the quoted fare without payment for 24 hours so long as you make the reservation at least 168 hours prior to the flight´s departure. If you have any questions regarding these policies, please speak to a Customer Service Representative.
JustFly fare / FlyDeal fare/ FlyClassic fare: If a passenger cancels or fails to travel on a booked flight, the airline is still entitled to payment, less any expenses saved; this does not apply if the circumstances leading to the cancellation or failure to travel are the airline’s responsibility or are due to extraordinary circumstances.
FlyFlex fare: In the case of cancellation your tickets are refunded in full, i.e. the full fare plus taxes and charges. If a flight previously booked as a FlyClassic fare/Saver fare is cancelled, the price element of the of the original FlyClassic fare/Saver fare is deducted when the cost of the flight is refunded. Please note that the service charge is not refundable.
If a booked flight or other confirmed service (e.g. seat reservation, carriage of pets, special reservations) is cancelled, the passenger must inform the airline of this by telephone or in writing, quoting the booking reference number, before embarking on the journey:

- in the FlyClassic fare category / Saver fare booked before 22.05.2012, the higher flight price plus the rebooking fee is charged.
- in the FlyFlex fare category / Flex fare booked before 22.05.2012, the name can be changed free of charge by calling our Service Center.
A booking made in the JustFly fare category cannot be changed.

Yes, the route can be changed when changing a booking. It is not possible, however, to change an international flight to a domestic one. The same applies to changing a domestic flight to an international one or to a domestic flight in a different country.

1. What does the regulation say?
Passengers may only carry liquids or comparable items of a similar consistency in small quantities and in small single containers in their hand baggage. In this respect, it must be ensured that the liquids are in single containers with a capacity not greater than 100 ml or a comparable unit of measure (as per the maximum filling amount printed on the container – a half-full 200 ml container is not permitted). All of these single containers must be packed in one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity not greater than 1 litre. Only one plastic bag per person is allowed. The relevant plastic bag must be transparent and have an integrated fastener (e.g. zip, Velcro, tie or string fastener). The simplest and most inexpensive option is to use freezer bags with zip-fasteners, which are offered in the majority of supermarkets.
2. What do "liquids" include?
Gels, pastes, lotions, combinations of liquids and solid matter such as toothpaste, hair gels, beverages, soups, syrup, perfume and other items of a similar consistency, and the contents of pressurised containers such as aerosols, shaving foam, hairspray.
3. Are there any exceptions for medicines or baby food?
Yes: Liquids that are used during the flight and are used either for medical or special dietary purposes, including baby food, milk or juices for fellow baby or infant passengers are permitted. The passengers must present these at the check point and they must also be separated from the remaining hand baggage and their necessity authenticated if required (e.g. by means of prescriptions, describing the necessity, plausibility etc.).
4. What regulations apply to purchases in duty free shops and on board the plane?
Duty free goods, which have been purchased on the day of the flight in a shop following the checking of boarding cards at an EU airport or on board a plane of an EU airline, may be taken by the passenger through the security check, if they are in a transparent bag sealed by the sales outlet. The bag must contain a proof of purchase that can be read from outside the bag, on which the date and place of sale are recorded.
5. What needs to be observed in the case of connecting flights?
If the flight in question is a connecting flight, where the first flight and the connecting flight take place from an airport within the EU, liquids that satisfy the conditions of point 4 may be taken on board the connecting flight. This does not apply to flights from non-European Union countries, which are not subject to the EU regulations.
6. Are longer waiting periods to be expected at the airport because of the EU regulation?
As the EU regulation requires a complex and thorough checking of the hand baggage, it can be assumed that the present waiting periods at the security check will lengthen. We recommend that you arrive at the check-in desk in good time before the planned departure.
7. Are there any further security regulations that must be observed at the airport?
Passengers will be required to remove their coats, jackets or blazers during the security check at the airport and take large electronic devices such as laptops out of the pockets. Please note that the hand baggage in airberlin aircrafts is restricted to a maximum size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm.

airberlin has no influence on these statutory requirements and requests passengers to take these into account when planning the trip and to reduce the hand baggage to essential items.
airberlin will carry pets either in the cabin or the hold, depending on the weight and size of the animal. Please note that the relevant animal protection regulations as well as the regulations on bringing animals into and out of the countries concerned will have to be observed.

The free baggage allowance for checked baggage varies according to the fare category and service class booked and the destination. You will find details of your free baggage allowance on your confirmation of booking. The free baggage allowance is stated in terms of the piece concept or the weight concept:
If the price details section of your invoice and confirmation of booking says, for example, "1 piece of baggage", then the piece concept applies to your flight. This means one item of baggage not exceeding 23 kg. If you did not book directly with airberlin, you may also find it says "1PC", meaning one piece of baggage. The piece concept applies to all flights with airberlin and to most of the flights with our airline partners.
If the weight concept applies to your flight, your confirmation of booking will say, for example, 20 kg. This means that the person on the booking has a free baggage allowance of 20 kg, regardless of the number of items.
In addition topbonus Gold and Platinum cardholders can also use the Lounges belonging to oneworld airline partners. Holders of a Gold Card have access to the Business Class and Frequent Flyer Lounges; holders of the new Platinum Card can enjoy the exclusive comfort of the oneworld First Class Lounges. Portable devices in flight mode Small electronic devices such as
tablets, e-books and mobile phones may be used during all phases of the
flight, provided that flight mode is activated. On the runway and during take-off and landing, these devices
must be secured so that there is no risk of injury to third parties.
Devices without flight mode
All devices with a send or receive function that do not have a flight mode option must be fully switched off throughout the entire flight.
Laptops, Ultrabooks and notebooks
may use laptops, Ultrabooks and notebooks on board during the flight,
provided the device is in flight mode, i.e. all send and receive
functions are deactivated.
Please note that these devices must be stowed away securely before take-off and landing, so they cannot be used during those phases.
Other devices with no connect options
Other devices with no connect options, for example DVD players, electronic games or MP3 players, may, depending on the size of the device, be used on board our aircraft during all phases of the flight. Larger devices must be securely stowed away before take-off and landing.
Bluetooth accessories (e.g. wireless keyboard, headphones etc.) may only be used during the flight. While taxiing to the runway, during take-off and landing, these items must be switched off.

So that your check-in runs smoothly and your flight takes off on time, we ask that you are at the check-in counter punctually with your boarding pass and have checked in by the check-in deadline at the very latest. You can find the exact check-in deadlines » for individual airports here. Passengers arriving at the check-in desk after the check-in deadline of their flight can no longer check in, will lose their entitlement to fly, and cannot claim a reimbursement, a credit note or change in booking without charge.
If you have already checked in but would still like to hand in luggage then the baggage drop-off or the check-in counter are available to you until the check-in deadline. Please show your boarding pass upon arrival at the counter.
Please note that waiting times at the check-in counter and the security checkpoints may differ ddepending on the airport. Please allow enough time for the possibility of having to cover longer distances within the airport. At Hurghada airport the security checkpoint is located before the check-in. Information for parents: If you are travelling with children, it is quite normal for checks to be carried out to ensure that children are travelling with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s, 1), or with their permission. That is why parents whose children do not have the same surname should carry additional documents as evidence that these are their own children. European requirements have resulted in a major change in the German passport law: From 26th June 2012, child entries in parents’ passports will become invalid and no longer entitle the child to cross the border to another country. Therefore, as of this date, all children (from birth onwards) will be required to have their own travel documents when travelling to other countries.

After a serious illness, injury and/or operation the periods you should wait before travelling by air, as a guideline, are as follows:
- Heart attack / Cardiac infarction: 8 weeks (12 weeks after a serious cardiac infarction)
- Stroke: 8 weeks
- Thoracic and abdominal operations: 6 weeks
- Cranial operations: 6 – 12 months
- Eye operations: 1 – 3 months
- Fractures: within the first four days carriage may be permitted under exceptional circumstances, provided medical transport is available or the passenger has a doctor's certificate confirming that it is safe for him/her to fly. After four days the passenger can be flown with a plaster cast but it is recommended that the cast be split. Passengers with a closed plaster cast need to produce a doctor's certificate if feasible.
- Pneumothorax (lung rupture): 6 – 8 weeks
You will need to notify the Service Center » at least 7 days prior to departure of any serious illnesses, recent operations and special medical requirements, as the medical service may need to make an assessment in individual cases. You should also notify the Service Centre at least 7 days prior to departure if you require a personal oxygen supply on board.
Vaccinations: When travelling to some countries you will need to be vaccinated or inoculated against specific diseases. Information about transporting medication: If you have medication that you constantly require, you should carry this in your cabin baggage; other medication should be carried in your checked baggage. If you are diabetic, please remember to carry sufficient amounts of insulin for the entire flight in your cabin baggage so that you always have it to hand. You should also carry a medical note from your GP confirming that you require this medication.

Here are a few helpful suggestions on how to prevent or manage a fear of flying:
- Find out some general information about flying and the aircraft, the background to the different operations of the flight, the technology and safety to build up your confidence in the pilot and the plane.
- Try to make the start of your journey and your flight as stress-free as possible. Leave plenty of time to get to the airport.
- Once you have checked in, stroll through the airport to distract yourself by being active.
- Have a light meal before the flight and definitely avoid eating anything too heavy. You should drink plenty of fluids when you are on board, but avoid alcohol and coffee.
- Read an entertaining book, listen to a relaxing CD or enjoy the distraction of the in-flight entertainment.
- Practise relaxation techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation or autogenic training.
- Avoid taking medication to counter your fear of flying, as using them can worsen the symptom of fear.

The Spanish government provides residents with a discount of up to 50 % of the net fare (without taxes and charges) on selected Spanish domestic flights. Residents are deemed to be all nationals of EU member states and Switzerland that have a valid residential address in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands or the exclaves of Ceuta and Melilla. This address must be the current address and it must be shown on the ID document (DNI) or the "Certificado de Extranjería / Tarjeta de Residencia" (ID document for foreign residents). If the document has not yet been updated, e.g. after moving house, a certificate issued by the town hall of the new place of residence and no more than 6 months old must be presented. A driver’s licence and passport are not deemed to be valid documents for the purpose of the residents’ discount. airberlin will accompany passengers with restricted mobility or severely disabled passengers at the departure airport and on arrival at their destination. We also provide wheelchairs where necessary to take passengers to and from the aircraft.
Disabled passengers with a type "B" pass or equivalent, denoting severe disability, can reserve seats for themselves and one person accompanying them. This reservation can be made via our Service Centre and is free of charge. On German domestic flights travel companions only pay taxes and charges as well as the service charge. Medical equipment and medication is carried free in the hold. Blind passengers can take their guide dogs with them into the cabin. The service for families » page in our service section provides all the information you need on the subject of child discounts, seat reservation and free baggage allowance for children, as well as our onboard service for our younger passengers. You will also find details about which child seats or safety restraint systems can be used on board airberlin aircraft.
Children aged five years or more may travel unaccompanied on airberlin. Our flight attendants will take special care of our young passengers. Airline tickets for unaccompanied children between the ages of 5 and 11 inclusive must be booked via the Service Centre. A fee is charged for supervising unaccompanied children. Please note that children must be accompanied from/to the airport and that the persons accompanying children must remain at the airport until the aircraft has taken off or until the aircraft’s scheduled time of arrival at the airport, as applicable. Persons collecting children must be nominated on departure of the flight and must be able to provide identification when collecting children at the point of arrival. Please note the Check in Deadline for unaccompanied minor (UMNR) will be changed from September 01st 2014 »If check-in has not already been done online or by mobile phone, your child will be checked in for the flight at the Check-in desk, where the UMNR wallet which your child will carry with him/her on the flight will be prepared. This wallet contains your child’s flight ticket, the boarding pass for the flight, your child’s valid passport or ID document and the UMNR form.

airberlin and NIKI reserve the right to take any measures they deem fit to ensure that any child is safely looked after if the child is not collected as arranged. These measures may include returning the child to the departure airport. The airline must be reimbursed for the costs incurred as a result.
Unaccompanied minors under 14 years of age and of Spanish nationality who are travelling from Spain or within Spain will require a passport or DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad, i.e. an official ID card) and the parents‘ or legal guardians‘ written permission to travel. This permit is issued by the relevant authorities (police, Guardia Civil, notary’s office) and must be presented at the check-in desk. When accompanied by a third party, minors under 14 years of age travelling from Spain will also require a passport or DNI and the parents’ written declaration. Minors under the age of 14 on a flight within Spain and accompanied by a third party do not require the parents’ written declaration. Minors under 14 years of age and travelling in the company of one or both parents generally do not need to present a DNI or passport; in such cases, proof of identity by presentation of the family register is sufficient. Minors must have a DNI or passport from the age of 14 onwards. The minor may be refused carriage if the above-mentioned documents are not available or incomplete.

The FlyFlex fare provides you with the highest level of flexibility when planning your journey and ensures your flight is comfortable. In this fare category you can cancel or reschedule flights you have booked free of charge, even after the original departure date. In this case, you just need to pay the difference between the fares for the old and new flights; we reserve the right to restrict the number of alternative routes offered. In addition to two items of hand baggage, two items of checked baggage or sports baggage are also included in the fare, as well as advance seat reservations.
It is possible to transport sport equipment or pets subject to a fee. You can check in at the airport counter or at machines in the departure hall, as well as online or via your mobile phone. The JustFly fare category does not include the additional service of a seat reservation (inc. the reservation of an XL seat with more leg room) and this cannot be booked as an add-on. Furthermore our Web Check-in does not give you the option of choosing your seat, i.e. the system allocates you a seat. This allows for ecological and economic factors regarding the loading of the aircraft to be taken into consideration. For this reason we cannot guarantee that passengers travelling together will be able to sit next to each other.
If you wish to reserve a seat or to choose your seat when you check in online, we recommend that you book in FlyDeal, FlyClassic or FlyFlex fare categories. In these fare categories seat reservation is available subject to a charge or free of charge.
In contrast to JustFly fares, flight bookings made in the FlyClassic fare category already include a large number of the classic services, such as checked baggage and airport check-in. Other services can be booked subject to payment of a fee (e.g. seat reservation or pets). Flights booked in the FlyClassic fare category may be rebooked upon payment of a fee and of the difference in fare, if applicable. Long-haul flights booked in FlyClassic may be cancelled upon payment of a fee. Short- and medium-haul flights booked in FlyClassic cannot be cancelled.

At the airport you must have your cabin baggage weighed at the check-in desk or the baggage drop-off desk. You will be given a JustFly label for your authorised cabin baggage, which will be checked as you board the aircraft. Any baggage in excess of the 8kg free allowance must be checked in and paid for in accordance with the current terms and conditions ». Please note that it is compulsory to have your cabin baggage weighed if you are booked in the JustFly fare category. Passengers without a JustFly label on their cabin baggage will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
Important: Regardless of whether you wish to check in baggage subject to a charge (any baggage should be booked up to 48 hours prior to departure by calling our Service Center) or are travelling with only the permitted allowance of cabin baggage, it is essential to collect a label for your cabin baggage from the check-in desk before departure!

Yes, you can check in baggage at the airport against payment of an additional fee. If you already know, at the time of booking your flight, that you will have baggage to check in, we recommend that you book the baggage immediately, or you can also book baggage at a later date » online or through our Service Center »; this service is available up to 48 hours before departure. We charge a fee of €15 per flight segment for the first item of baggage weighing max. 23 kg.
The alternative for travellers who have baggage to check in is to book in the FlyDeal, FlyClassic or FlyFlex fare categories, both of which already include checked baggage.

In contrast to our FlyClassic fare category, it is not possible to change your booking on flights booked in FlyDeal. It is only possible to combine flights booked in our FlyDeal fare category on short- and medium-haul routes with those booked in FlyFlex. Long-haul flights booked in our FlyDeal fare category can be combined with those in any other fare category in Economy and Business Class. In both FlyDeal and FlyClassic you have access to all our classic services, e.g. this includes 23 kg max. free baggage allowance and Check-in at the airport desk.
