The Rail&Fly ticket is valid for travel within Germany using any local or long-distance passenger train operated by Deutsche Bahn AG if the departure station and the departure airport are in different public transport regions. A Rail & Fly ticket can be booked for the same day as the flight, for the day prior to departure, or for the day following arrival. Stopovers on the journey to and from the airport are permitted. The class of Rail&Fly ticket depends on the class of service of the flight ticket, in other words for a Business Class flight ticket book a first class Rail&Fly ticket and for an Economy Class flight ticket book a second class Rail&Fly ticket.

Rail&Fly tickets can be booked online at airberlin.com when you are booking your flight (Except in the JustFly fare category and on topbonus award flight bookings). The offer is only valid in conjunction with an international flight from/to Germany. This offer does not apply to flights to/from Amsterdam, Basel, Paris, Salzburg, Vienna and Zurich.

- travel by motorail, excursion and charter trains, as well as Thalys
- travel on DB/SEA routes
- travel on NE routes (railways not owned by the German state, private railways)
