ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

BY CAR
The airport is located about 45 km south of London. It is connected directly to the M23 (Junction 9) and to the A23, the London - Brighton Road.
The M25 is a ten minute drive away (Junction 7) and is the link with the national roads and motorways. The airport is very well signposted. airberlin only operates out of the North Terminal.

BY RAIL/BY BUS
Bus:

Shuttle buses take you directly from the North Terminal to London. They run every 15 minutes between the airport and the “Earls Court/West Brompton“ stop in London. This service is available every day of the week (except during the Christmas statutory holidays) and costs £2.
The “National Express Service” is the UK’s largest bus company and will take you to many places in the United Kingdom, such as London, Heathrow and Brighton.

The “Oxford Express” connects the airport with Oxford on an hourly basis.

Rail:

The “Gatwick Express” is the fastest rail link between the airport and the London city centre. The roughly 30 minute trip brings you to Victoria Station. The train operates every 15 minutes. BY TAXI

The taxi service is handled by Checker Cars, the airport’s official partner. You will be informed of the cost of the trip before setting off; the cost is around £95 (depending on the final destination, exclusive of possible toll charges of around £8). Ticket agencies can be found in the Arrivals area in the North Terminal as well as in the South Terminal entry hall. Vehicles with pivoting seats are available for travellers with limited mobility.

PARKING
Video-monitored and covered multi-storey car parks are available. For longer stays, the airport currently offers discounts of up to 50%, if you book in advance.

Short stay car park:
If you are picking up passengers, please use short stay car park 3. 15 minutes costs £1.
Charges: £1 /15 minutes, £2.50 /15-30 minutes, £5.20 /up to 1 hour,
£30 /12-24 hours, £30 for every additional day   
Long stay car park:

The long stay car park is located a short distance from the terminal. Shuttle buses go to the North Terminal every ten minutes; the travelling time takes around 5 minutes. Advance bookings are requested in order that you can be certain of obtaining a parking space.

There are at least one EC ATM and one Bureau de Change on every level of the terminal 2.

The airport offers scores of shopping opportunities. From accessory shops to newsagents, you will find everything to do with travelling and more. An equally wide choice of cafes, restaurants and snack bars provides you with the opportunity of enjoying longer stays as well.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE
The entire airport is easily accessible to handicapped persons. There are identified handicapped parking spaces, wheelchair ramps as well as handicapped accessible elevators and washrooms. In addition, there is a special counter on every level, where passengers can request assistance.
