The airport is located 6 km north of Düsseldorf. The A44 takes you to the A52 and the north and also to the A3 that runs north and south.

Düsseldorf Airport has its own train station with very good local and national train connections. The SkyTrain is a shuttle service that runs between the airport’s train station and the terminal (also stopping at car park 4).
The S-Bahn (urban train) no. 1 runs daily between Dusseldorf and the "railway station Dusseldorf airport".
The S-Bahn (urban train) no. 11 links the airport with Bergisch Gladbach and stops at the underground station for the airport "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal".
The 760 bus runs regularly to the city centre of Düsseldorf-Ratingen. When there are exhibitions in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Essen, special buses will be operating to take passengers to the appropriate exhibition centre. The bus station is located in front of the central information area.
There are always taxis available in front of the central Arrivals Area. The journey to the city centre of Düsseldorf takes approx. 15 minutes, the fare is approx. 20 €, and the fare to Essen is 55 €.
Short stay car park:
Car parks P2, P3, P7 and P8 are right in front of the terminal. The underground car park P1 is located underneath the terminal.
Long stay car park:
Long term parking is available at P4, P5 and P22. A special budget rate applies to long term car park P23, P24, P25 and P26.
Your car is parked for you. Simply drive to the Departures Level, leave your car in one of the marked bays in front of the terminal and hand your car keys to a member of staff.
Exclusive Parking Area:
The exclusive topbonus parking area at Dusseldorf Airport is located in the P3 car park and can be used by topbonus Gold and Platinum members at the standard parking rates, without any additional charges.

Transferring from a short-haul to a long-haul flight:
There is a gangway that connects gates B and C. Just follow the signs for "Departures C". Passengers travelling to the USA and Canada will need to show their passports again on account of the strict entry regulations for those countries. Passengers travelling on paperless tickets must carry a printout of their return flight confirmation, as the electronic form on a laptop or PDA is not recognised. In addition, travellers to the USA need the ESTA confirmation.
Transferring from a long-haul to a short-haul flight:
When you have gone through passport control, just follow the signs for "Departures B". You will not be leaving the customs area. Nevertheless, you will need to observe the regulations for carrying liquids in your cabin baggage, as another security check will be required on entry into an EU country. Passengers already in possession of their boarding pass for the connecting flight can go straight to their departure gate. Passengers without a boarding pass for their connecting flight should contact the airberlin transfer counter in Arrivals C, after passport control, or in Departures B, after the security check E1.
The information desk is located on the ground floor of multi-storey car park 3 and is open from 4:00–24:00 h. Charges: Items up to 30 kg 3 €/day, up to 60 kg 3,50 €/day, bycicles 8 €/day.

Banks can be found on the arrival and departure levels. ATMs are available in all arrival and departure areas, as well as at the railway station.
The Airport Arcades are located in the public area of the terminal. You will find a large number of shops, restaurants and cafés here. There are also numerous additional shops at the gates, near the central arrivals area and in the station.
Drivers with a disability pass can park in any of the car parks free of charge. You will need to press the intercom button to report when leaving the car park.
The airport facilities and SkyTrain are accessible to disabled persons. Wheelchairs are available on request.
