Drinks selection
On board we offer coffee, tea, soft drinks or fruit juices free of charge. There is also a selection of alcoholic drinks. For current prices please refer to the list of beverages on board.
Catering service on short-haul and medium-haul flights
You will be served free snacks or sandwiches on board our short-haul and medium-haul flights with a flight time of up to 4 hours; on flights with a flight time of more than 4 hours we will serve a range of complimentary bagels and baguettes, nibbles and chocolate bars.
Sansibar gourmet menus
On all airberlin routes with a flight time of 90 minutes or longer we can also offer freshly prepared gourmet meals designed by Sansibar. Depending on the time of day or season of the year, you can enjoy a range of specialities created by Herbert Seckler, who runs the famous Sansibar restaurant on the German island of Sylt. Please note: We will need to receive your order no more than 30 days and at least 48 hrs. before the flight. During this period you can also pre-order your gourmet meal immediately after you have booked your flight online.
Catering service on long-haul flights
On our long-haul flights to Asia, North America, South Africa and the Caribbean you will be served two meals in our Economy Class: one main meal with a choice of two hot dishes, and a cold meal or snack. You also have the option of pre-ordering free special menus ». We also serve special children’s menus » for children from the age of two.
Special menus and children’s menus
On our long-haul flights we are happy to serve the following special meals, free of charge:
- Vegetarian meals
- Gluten-free meals
- Lactose-free meals
- Vegan meals
- Meals for diabetics
- Kosher meals (on long-haul flights only)
We can provide special children’s menus for our younger passengers (2 years and older) on our long-haul routes if they are pre-ordered.
If you would like to take up our services with regard to special menus or children's menus, just let our Service Centre » know what you require up to 48 hours before departure of the flight. We regret that for organisational reasons we are unable to take such special food orders at the airport.
Food and drink in airberlin’s Business Class
Our Business Class passengers are served a multi-course menu in elegant surroundings. There is a choice of several main courses. If you are a little peckish, we will serve you snacks, fruit and sandwiches. You will be welcomed on board with a drink and our wide selection of beverages, including select red and white wines, will be available to you during the flight.

In-flight entertainment
Entertainment on short-haul and medium-haul flights
airberlin offers you a wide variety of in-flight entertainment on all flights. In addition to a radio programme featuring current hits, classical music and jazz, you can enjoy our onboard TV with serials, cartoons and music videos. A film is shown on all routes with a flight time of over four hours. In addition we keep a large selection of free newspapers and magazines for you on board.

In-flight entertainment on long-haul flights
On long-haul flights the onboard TV will keep you wonderfully entertained with the best movies, music videos and short film reports. You also have a choice of up to 12 music channels ranging from classical music to pop. In addition we keep a large selection of current newspapers and magazines for you on board free of charge.

Entertainment in airberlin’s Business Class
In our Business Class you will have a personal monitor, which is already integrated in your seat to ensure maximum comfort. A wide range of great films will keep you wonderfully entertained.

For the inflight entertainment you will normally be able to use standard headphones, e.g. ones that are used with an MP3 player. We also offer headphones on board at a price of 3 euros.
airberlin magazin
The in-flight magazine is published every two months and contains around one hundred pages packed with lifestyle, travel recommendations, information and great entertainment.
