Earning miles with Etihad Airways

topbonus members can earn topbonus award and status miles on the entire route network of Etihad Airways. Just enter your topbonus number when booking a flight or present your topbonus Card at the airport Check-in desk. The number of miles accrued will depend on the booking class and the flight segment as shown below:

Please note: Etihad Airways charter flights, award flights, and flights with Ethiad flight number that are not operated by airberlin or Ethihad are not eligible for mileage accrual.

Redemption chart

Award flights can be booked as one-way and return flights. Taxes, fees and charges will be charged separately and can only be paid by credit card. The amount of miles outlined in the redemption chart refers to one-way award flights including one feeder or one connecting flight.

Sample calculation

A flight from Berlin (TXL) Abu Dhabi (AUH) requires 35,000 award miles in Economy Class and 70,000 award miles in Business Class. For roundtrips the double amount of miles is required.

Retroactive mileage credit

If your topbonus award miles for flights with Etihad Airways since 15th January 2012 have not been automatically credited to your topbonus mileage account – or you forgot to present your topbonus Card at Check-in – don’t worry!

topbonus Silver, Gold and Platinum Card holders can use the Etihad Airways Priority Check-in facilities. Just present your topbonus Card at the Priority Check-in counters. 

Priority Boarding

Holders of the topbonus Silver, Gold and Platinum Card can enjoy the benefit of Priority Boarding on all Etihad Airways operated flights where this benefit is offered.

Additional Baggage Allowance

topbonus status members enjoy additional baggage allowances on Etihad Airways operated flights. As a topbonus Platinum Card holder you can check in your baggage with an extra of 20 kg. topbonus Gold Card holders get 15 kg and Silver Card holders get 10 kg. Just present your topbonus Card at the check-in or baggage drop-off counter. Please note that these additional baggage allowances are not available on flights to/from the USA and Canada.
