The oneworld alliance

oneworld is an alliance of the world's leading airlines which offers international frequent flyers a superior level of service and comfort. The following airlines are members of the oneworld alliance: airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, TAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SirLankan Airlines.

The oneworld airlines jointly offer a seamless, premium class travel experience. Flight guests enjoy special privileges and frequent flyer benefits and can therefore earn and redeem miles and points across the entire alliance route network. Holders of the highest status on the frequent flyer programme (Emerald and Sapphire) have access to 600 airport lounges. Frequent flyers with Emerald status also have access to separate Fast Track Security Lanes at selected airports. In addition, they have an extra free baggage allowance.


The history of oneworld

February 1999: oneworld, which was launched by American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas, starts its operations with the slogan:"oneworld revolves around you".

September 1999: Finnair and Iberia join oneworld

June 2000: LAN joins oneworld

April 2007: Royal Jordanian and Japan Airlines join oneworld

November 2010: S7 Airlines joins oneworld

20.03.2012: airberlin became a full member, NIKI became an affiliate member of the alliance.

February 2013: Malaysia Airlines joins oneworld

October 2013: Qatar Airways joins oneworld

March 2014: TAM Airlines and US Airways join oneworld

April 2014: SriLankan Airlines joins oneworld
