Entry regulations – Cuba

For a stay of 30 days, tourists will require a tourist card to enter Cuba. For longer stays, or stays for non-tourist purposes, a visa is required.
airberlin travellers can obtain the tourist card ("Tarjeta del Turista") from Dusseldorf airport and Berlin-Tegel airport for 35 euros at the airberlin sales desk, check-in desk, or at the corresponding boarding gate before the long-haul flight to Cuba.

If you have booked a feeder flight to Dusseldorf or Berlin-Tegel with an onward flight to Cuba, you will need to be in possession of the tourist card earlier, at your original departure airport. In this case, you may purchase the card from the relevant authorities. It is not possible to purchase the entry card for Cuba at our feeder airports.

Flight guests of other airlines can also obtain the Cuban tourist card at the airberlin sales desk for 45 euros. Accepted methods of payment include credit cards, EC cards, and cash.
Please note that Cuban tourist cards are generally not sold and/or issued at the border!
The tourist card is valid for 180 days from the date of issue, and needs to be presented upon entry together with a passport that has at least 6 months' validity left. Photo IDs for children are accepted before their 16th birthday, upon which children will require a passport.

Please note that a local departure tax is payable.

A confirmed onward-passage or return ticket is also required for entry. The first address where visitors will be staying must be provided on arrival in Cuba. Visitors must have the equivalent of USD 50 for each day of their stay at their disposal (in cash or Travellers’ Cheques).

NEW: As part of the Secure Flight programme, selected passenger details must also be provided to the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for any flights which enter United States airspace. This also applies to flights to Cuba.
