Collecting miles with airberlin

      

You collect valuable topbonus status and award miles on every flight with airberlin for free flights and status benefits.

You can earn miles on all flights with an airberlin (AB) and NIKI (HG) flight number. Miles are calculated according to the tables below. The number of miles depends on the tariff booked and for long haul flights it also depends on the class of travel and the actual distance.

Please note
that for flights which are part of a tour-operator package you will receive 25% of the distance miles in Economy Class. For flights in Business Class you will receive 100% of the distance miles. Please also note that the mile values listed apply for the respective direct routes. All booking classes that are not listed in the above table are not eligible for mileage accrual.


Domestic
: Flights within an european country (see Europe overview) 

Europe: All cross-border flights within Europe (excluding domestic flights): Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France (excluding  oversees départements), Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Island, Italy, Jersey, Kosovo, Croatia, Malta, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal (including Azores/Madeira), Rumania, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, Turkey and Cyprus.

Long-haul routes: flights from Europe to: Egypt, Algeria, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Israel, Jamaica, Canada, Canary Islands, Kenya, Cuba, Maledives, Marocco, Mexico, Namibia, Russian Federation (western Urals), South Africa, Thailand, Tunesia, USA and UAE.

The long haul flight table also applies to feeder flights for long haul flights. A mileage minimum of 500 miles applies with a percentage of 100%. The same applies to domestic sectors of flights outside Europe.

Use your miles to travel the world!

Here you’ll see how many miles you need to redeem an award flight with airberlin and NIKI. All mileage amounts are listed exclusive of taxes, fees and fuel surcharges.

Taxes, charges and fuel surcharges can be included for an additional 7,500 award miles for inland flights and within Europe and an additional 12,500 miles for flights to the Middle East and North Africa. 

Please note that the mileage amounts apply per single route. Please also note that award flights can only be booked for natural persons. Consequently you will not be able to redeem miles for "extra seats".

All topbonus award flights are flexible one-way flights, so they can be combined with any other flight. You can simply use your miles for the outbound flight, purchase an inbound flight of your choice, or you can even use your miles for a return flight (subject to availability). Your award flights are transferable to other people.

Decide yourself: would you like an award flight for a cheaper mileage rate and pay the taxes, fees and fuel surcharge due yourself? Or would you prefer to book a completely free flight (incl. taxes, fees and fuel surcharge)?

By the way: you don’t pay a service charge on award and free flights.

Now others can profit from your miles! Use your award miles to book an award flight for another person ». Make your journey even more comfortable with the Business Class Upgrade » using award miles. And with the Companion Ticket » your companion pays just half the award miles for the flight. You can also book straight into Business Class - however you prefer.

The airberlin Topdeal Tickets » will give you the chance to regularly claim award flights at even more favourable conditions than before.

South & Central Asia / The Gulf States: flights from Europe to: Maledives, United Arab Emirates
